GTI Vs 2011 Mustang V6

eh, I've driven the E46 M3 a bunch of times, and I have a friend getting the E92 any day now - I envy the E92 to an extent, but again, for the money - new or used, many, many other options out there that are either faster or more "exciting" to drive, imho.

this is truth...but i would argue the v6 stang behind the gti all day...especially all around performance...the only big advantage is 0-60...but speaking in the same price range you can't ignore the wrx

about my evo, to sum it up quickly, more than 1 grey evo on the lot, the used model and new model looked literally identical, the salesman took the wrong vin, he was new, he was fired soon after, they put my car up for sale once they had noticed the mistake they had made, i transferred it to another dealer before they could sell it. remember its a canadian evo, retail on the gsr here is 44, on the MR ots 53. Our dollars are on par...

haha, Alex.. a rwd C6 Z06 would destroy the M3. I would also prefer an Exige S over the M3 Lastly, a well optioned M3 can run like $65K+... that's easily into used GT-R territory. Cmon now!

Hey, like I said, everyone is welcome here. I'm just trying to understand why certain people (non VW owners) would WANT to be here. You seem to have a semi-legitimate reason. And you do not seem like an asshole for that matter.

And I actually never said anything bad about the Mustangs. They are nice cars....and fast as fuck (even the V6's). Evo's are sick, and even the Speed3's are........well, they're fast, but damn the new ones are ugly.

I just know that there are some non-GTI owners who lurk on these forums just so they can jump on the bandwagon of every "Dickybird" that comes along just to start trouble.

agreed, i drove the M tho, it seduced me, so did the GT500, i cannot argue that the c6 z06 demolishes both these car in performance value(used) but i like the GT500 and M3 better. Like clarkson said, the M3 is a masterpiece, it feels like a glove. The GT500 put a stupid smile on my face that i havent had since i went to disney world for the first time.

I hear ya- driving feel is very important. The new GT500 is supposed to be greatly improved as well, so you can't go wrong with either. If I "had" to choose between the two, it would be a tough decision - but the overall power on the GT500 may swing me in that direction. I believe a few companies already make supercharge kits for the 5.0GT that make it quite the beast as well, for a lot less money.

The Exige S would murder a Mustang V6. A Lotus Elise probably would too on a track.

The exige is a car that should sit in the garage during the week, and be taken out as a weekend toy, its not very liveable, but if you were to purchase a toy, its one of the best toys you can buy! It might not be the fastest car on the track, and i havent driven one, but i would imagine that it feels phenomenal on a track:

2008-2009 sti. The results indicate that it is. However this is one track, one day, who knows if it was wet or not. This was the worst run i've seen out of a 2008-2009 sti. The results show however that the margin between these two cars isnt that large its appears to be a drivers race. The sti is faster in a straight line, but the 08-09 didnt have the greatest handling, i've driven both the gti appears to handle better... anyways i couldnt tell you forsure, but im gonna side with you on this one and say it wasnt the best lap that car could run. When the WRX turns out a faster lap than the STi, soemthing is up...
