Thanks for the words of wisdom. The only holdback is the price. I can find a used 'K03' (stock) for $350 but a new K04 is $1500, bummer! New K03 is $1200 anyway... Did it require a software install to handle the extra power? Any Check Engine Lights from it? I am seriously considering the K04 though, it's been done so many times it is quite doable and its a no-brainer with the engine out anyway! Thanks for the update

If you end up needing turbo I just went k04 and my stocker has 82,000 miles. Just installed k04, intake cleaning and timing tensioner. You can do it with the right tools. I'm 47 and the hardest part is seeing stuff up close!
