Alpine SPS-610C speakers

Is anyone on these forums running these speakers in their MK6? I am not looking to put in much money into the system but I just want clearer sound. The factory speakers are a bit tinny at high volumes.

Would running these speakers with the stock HU be an improvement or would I just be wasting my time? Any info helps thanks.

You will need an aftermarket amp or JBL Cleansweep if you want great sound.

Especially if you want to retain the factory headunit.

Thanks for the replies, Ill keep doing some research but upgrading the audio in the car has now become my #1 priority.

What did you end up going with? I got recommendation from a friend who's a professional car audio installer to use these speakers without an amp. I'm debating between these and Polk DB6501.

I am not planning on using an amp though, at least for now...

I have a set of these and the Alpine SPR-60C's as well sitting next to me awaiting install (hopefully this weekend).

I will be using the SPS-610C's in the rear doors, and the SPR-60C's in the fronts. Running them off an Alpine MRD-F600 4 Channel Amp.

Unfortunately I won't be able to give you recommendation based on the sound from the Factory HU, as I have already replaced mine.
