sgessler2011

Ready to race!
Today after heavy rain here in NY i went to start the car and it took longer to start. Check engine light illuminates. Car in limp mode.
Looks like my ECU is bad. I'm tuned stage 1
Can anyone confirm this? Car is headed to dealer in morning.

The Lame & The Ludicrous
Hmm, heavy rain and the location of the ECU make me think that the shop didn't reseal the ECU properly. APR mandates the procedure and sealant to use to prevent moisture incursion.

That is what I am afraid of. It has been through 3 years of all kinds of weather though. I've been searching all over, and contacted the tuning company. They advised me it doesn't appear to be the tune, but another electrical problem. I did see a couple of others with this code and they were remedied by a new battery.

I hope mine is sun a case too.

One of the coolant pump codes seems old?

The more recent code is showing 10v which is low during start I think. Maybe battery?

It's headed to VW in morning. I just added distilled water tomthe battery cells. All were low. I ran the car it's still misfiring and sputtering. No smoke though. I installed the oem coils to rule out a bad coil pack. Before this incident I had the R8 coil packs. Running VCDS all cylinders are misfiring.

I'm mentally prepared for the big expensive bad news, an ECU.

If anyone else has experience with this error code and has some good insights, chime in.

I had a similar fault , and random codes came up, would start every now and then and was in and out of limp mode, the ecu usually gets opened up when its mapped and mine wasnt sealed back up properly and water got in, stupid place to be right under the scuttle panel

Just got the call. It's the fuel pump.
Out if warranty, $187 no charge for the parts since they know I'm buying a MK7 GTI

Update: Loaner car, ECU is dead. New one on the way from Germany, car to be returned to me tomorrow.

Btw, your ecu is dead or the high pressure fuel pump? I have the same problem now. Thanks
