I have heard rumors that VW are going to build a golf R36. I just hope that its true.

I don't think an R36 will now happen as the world has changed especially in Europe were CO2 output of cars dictate how heavy you get taxed and also rising fuel prices this is having a huge impact on car makers choices.

If they are already considering to get rid of the R32 for a R-GTI with AWD and 265 HP coming from a 2.0T engine then a R36 will never be made

Does the r32 only produce 250 stock? how much would the 2l produce with out the turbo? and with a chip how much could the 2l.T produce?

The .:R32 produces 250hp stock...

Not sure about the no turbo question?

The ed30 turbo engine can produce 300 hp just chipped

The trend today in powertrain development is downsizing. So I could see VW using smaller engines with more technology like DI and turbocharging to increase both horsepower and fuel efficiency. Drive it like you stole it and still get boo-koo MPG; The best of both worlds!

It kinda depends if you like to leave things stock. The 265hp in the 2.0 can easily be bumped to 300hp since it will come with the bigger turbo from the Audi.

That's exactly the main reason why I prefer a 2.0T above a 3.2 V6
