Exhaust splash guard?

Hey, new to the GTI so here goes, I've seen video's of guys installing DP and exhaust systems and they are removing a rather larger plastic looking cover or splash guard that covers most of the exhaust tunnel. Do ALL GTI's have this or just certain years? Just trying to figure this out because my new '13 with 10k on it does NOT have this piece on it. Thanks...T

you talking about in the front? the underbody tray? If so yes all Gti's have this.

Splash guard

No, this appears to be the front engine bay guard/ cover. Again, the one I'm referring to is rectangular shaped and covers most on the exhaust tunnel, where DP runs parallel to underbody to catback. I hope that makes sense...

It doesn't cover the tunnel. It's the passenger side "belly pan". It's removed to access the O2 sensor wiring harness.
