GIAC Loba LO400 extreme software support is now available from GIAC!

GIAC is pleased to announce that Extreme software support is officially available for the Loba LO400 (formerly LO380) turbocharger worldwide! This software provides sizable increases over K04 software, with testing yielding as high as 360 wheel horsepower.

In order to guarantee proper drivability, GIAC requires a parts list consisting of:

RS4 injectors
RS4 fuel pressure regulator
Upgraded intercooler
Upgraded Extreme intake
Upgraded High pressure and low pressure fuel pumps
Upgraded turboback exhaust

For those who are limited to 91 octane, it is also a requirement that you utilize water-methanol injection. Though safe to drive without it, during testing, we found that the knock limitations of 91 octane fuel did not allow for any significant performance increases over a factory K04 turbocharger with GIAC Stage 2 software. As such, water-methanol is needed to take advantage of the added power capacity of the L0400 turbo. For those with access to 93 octane, you will be able to utilize the pump gas file without any water-methanol injection. Though, it does provide benefit through lower intake air temperatures and increased octane rating.

GIAC offers full program switching with this file, meaning that there is also a 100 octane “Race” file. Testing with this file actually prompted Loba to rename their turbo to LO400, as the measured 360 wheel horsepower translates to well in excess of 400 crank horsepower (likely around 450).

Our first calibration for this turbocharger is a custom calibration for a road race customer who opted for lower boost down low. We will be offering higher torque calibrations in the future for those who wish to maximize power under the curve. This customer was looking for higher traps speeds on the road course with a more linear feel.

Been reading about the LO400, comparing it to the 380.
Decisions, decisions!

The L0380 is now known as the L0400. After our results, coupled with previous numbers, Loba realized that they had underrated the turbo.

I believe that you may be referring to the L04XX, for which we will offer software support very soon

Nope, I liked the 380. Now that its the Lo400 makes it that much better!

Any new updates/graphs with regular boost curves? Also, any chance to have multi switch capability for being able to drive this turbo in areas where 91 may not be available and not need water/meth?
IE: lower/slower boost when traveling out of my home area?

Users have the ability to dial in power as they wish using the manual boost controller. We set the N75 so as too allow the MBC to control pretty much the entire boost curve.

You can drive this turbo setup on straight 91 octane, but the detonation resistance makes the turbo upgrade not worthwhile. You simply can't run the boost levels that this turbo is capable of on straight 91 octane.
