HELP with Stage 1 Golf R

Just got my R tuned yest stage 1 with no downpipe no fuel pump just a plain tune. The car seems faster but im worried its not running right. its only hitting 20lbs of boost at full spike for like a millisecond then it goes down to 15 lbs and holds there till redline. For anyone stage 1 are those numbers right?

Yeah sounds about right ... 20lbs. Then bleeds off to 15 16 or 17 ... Put and intake and it will stay at 20

Now I don't have a boost gauge but 20psi seems low.. Isn't stock boost 17psi?

20 is normal for stage 1 tune unless you go with HPFP. With aftermarket hpfp, peak boost will be around 24. With stage 2+, peak boost should be around 27.

Assuming you mean psi, sounds about right for a stg1 with bone stock hardware.

Well you're still running the requested boost of a stage 1 tune. The CAI will help a bit with the boost holding up towards the redline, but it won't do miracles on stage 1.
Technically the intercooler has no direct impact on boost as it helps with cooling the air post turbo. Why don't you throw in a DP and upgrade your tune to stage 2, then you'll run higher boost and get all the benefits from your CAI and IC.
