Why stripes? I don't understand why Euro an Jap owners think it's a good idea to put them on.. It's a American muscle concept..

Stripes on cars pre-date muscle cars by a few decades. Originally they were used to differentiate other wise nearly identical cars on the race track. Fender stripes were very common, longitudinal stripes got popular when roofs became common instead of roadsters.

By the time America was putting them on 'stangs and Camaro's Europe had been putting them on street cars for a decade. The only people who relate them to muscle cars are Americans, because we invent everything first, always.
