Parts for MK4

So hey guys, I wrecked my MK6 over a month ago and since then I've purchased a MK4 TDI. But please excuse these really dumb questions.

I need to replace some of the interior switches and the shift boot has seen better days.

Would I be able to put any shift knob on top? I was planning on putting the MK7 knob on my MK6 but that obviously isn't going to happen.

But if I acquired, say a MK6 R knob or a fancy MK7 knob, it should fit, right? I mean the knob, I know that the boot and the frame thing are different.

its worth a try, if it doesnt work you could just sell it on this forum. oem knobs are the best cos they have the metal clamp to keep them in place. ecstuning has mk4 things for sale.
