Question: Aftermarket springs compatibility

So will a set of lowering springs for GTI fit a 2.5/TDI? I know they all have identical chassis and all but not sure if it will work.

If they do work, then why some manufacturers have different part numbers for gti and golf springs?
only reason I can think of is they are actually different(in compression rate or length or something else) but I'm not very knowledgeable about how companies wants to give part#s. so I could be wrong about the difference.

someone point me to the right way? or just gimme a Yes they will fit on golf or No that's suicidal?

I believe they do, I've call H&R directly and ask them about the springs for GTI/2.5/TDI. From what they've told me, they will fit and the only difference would be the amount height being lowered

Physically fit = YES

Ride height difference = Yes, but minor & it varies by model
