I'm changing the oil this weekend.

Can you guys confirm these specs? It'd be nice to have them all at the top of one thread for easy searching. A lot of the information is on this forum, but it's scattered all over. I'll edit this post if I am wrong about anything.

Drain plug: 22 ft lb / 30 Nm
Oil filter: 18 ft lb / 25 Nm

Wheel lug nuts: 88 ft lb / 120 Nm

MK6 2.0T oil capacity: 4.6 liters / 4.9 quarts

Yes. You are correct.

I toss in 5 quarts and call it a day normally. Haven't had any issues.

Wow the 2.0 Turbo only takes 4.6qts and the 2.5L NA takes 5.8qts? Wow, that seems backwards.

I Got That 6.
Hmm...I put in only 4.5 and torqued it down to max by hand.

5qt wont hurt. and if your hand torquing the drain bolt, then you're not crushing the washer and providing a good seal. Definitely torque it down to spec.

Yeah, torque the drain plug. Using a torque wrench on the oil filter isn't really necessary. Just get the rubber seal to make contact and turn another 3/4 to 1 full turn. It will be snug.

I really wouldn't torque the filter to that spec you will never get it off for your next oil change. Don't ask me how I know this.
