Under hood color

Sorry if this has been discussed. Im on my phone and my searching wasnt working. My dad and i filled my notch in my hood on my deep pearl. I was wondering what the greyish color under the hood is so i can match the notch. Again sorry if this has been discussed

Behind the padding, the underside of my hood is body color.

Mine is color match except for the middle which is primer. So I wouldn't worry about that. If it was me getting my hood notch filled I'd paint the whole hood top and bottom figure you have to blend it anyway might as well take it off.

There is nothing wrong with your car. My friend who has a 2011 has the same thing. His whole engine compartment is a primer color. His car is CSG.

This has been talked about on forums. This greyish paint under the bonnet is the grey primer it appears that after a certain year VW cut back on the paint finish under the bonnet. There is one part under my bonnect that has a greyish overspray strip.

my '12 has primer color under the hood.. does look like another corner cut by VW to save $$
