Dyno Results
Yup, that was me!! I would of stuck around more but my morning coffee didn't kick in yet.. Your GLI was very impressive, the techs and I were very impressed with how well done everything was. Congrats on the dyni numbers, hopefully my MK5 can keep up lol
Thanks bro, I appreciate it. You know you did a good job when a garage full of VW Techs are peering their eyeballs all over the vehicle trying to figure out whats been done.
ZERO Custom Parts, jigger riggs or anything! Everything Engine Related, is 100% APR bolt on from the Inter-cooler all the way to the Exhaust Tips.
The only thing in the Engine Bay that is not APR is the Neuspeed power pulley, the Spark Plugs and the Coils.
And I did that dyno run when it was BAKING HOT outside, I believe it was around 90 degrees down here in Stamford, CT yesterday and I was in the straight up City too, no Trees, no Grass, just concrete jungle Son! So imagine if I do this dyno in November.
Nonetheless, the APR FMIC does such an excellent job keeping the Engine nice and cool, there was basically no power loss when we did back to back runs, and this was right after I drove the $ H I T out of the car on my way back from Fairfield, CT. I got into it with a brand new Maserati Ghibli and a Carbon Fiber Hooded (Long Island Guido) M3 on 95 so you can only imagine how hard r I was on the ca right before I hit the Dyno, and if you don't know me, I DRIVE HARD!!!
Another point to consider, when we did the 93 Run, it was on Barely Empty. Then I went for another quick spin to try and use up the rest of the 93 Octane before we dumped the 100oct Fuel in. But there was a good amount of 93 octane fuel left in the tank when we put the 100oct Fuel in, the Gas gauge was in the middle of the Red "Empty" Area just to give everyone an idea of how much 93 Octane was left in the tank.
Just some additional parameters to take into consideration before everyone goes and tries to contest how well APR did with the v3.1 Tune. Just like Jaime said, there is no 100% accurate way to compare 1 dyno result to another, unless you have both cars being compared at the same dyno at the same time, etc... If you don't have that meet those conditions then comparing dyno charts from different times and geo-locations is like watching gay porn, it's just WRONG!
A Car's dyno results are a benchmark for that car and no others, unless the above parameters are met.
