Pretty impressive for a front drive car (with a heavy iron block of front).

I don't see any windshield washer fluid spurting out from the rear window washer, so they must have drained their washer reservoir before doing the video.

As nice as my GTI handles, it's no match for my '99 1LE equipped Z28 Camaro. The car had a junk interior, etc., but it was the best handling car I have ever personally driven (including my '09 Z51 equipped Corvette).

The 'Vette has significantly higher limits, but the factory 1LE autocross package provided much better feedback and control. Lift throttle over-steer was amazing and completely predictable in reasonably competent hands...The solid axle was only a headache on rough roads (e.g. frost heaves).

Nice.

At 26 sec you can see the rear end sliding just a bit to help the car turn.

Just bring slicks mounted on dedicated wheels.

An hour's worth of aggressive track time will do a real number on your street rubber - especially the fronts.

+1 or any kind of spare set of wheels and tires does not have to be slicks

If someone if going to go to the trouble of obtaining spare wheels for track duty, why wouldn't they install slicks, or at the very least, DOT approved racing tires?

It's the tire I'm pointing out below and not the specific sizes:

I could see just having a set of normal tires even for track duty. I'd like to find the limits of my car as I drive it everyday, not as a track prepped car.

Back on topic, that's pretty impressive considering it's half the cost of the other cars and *cough* has the nicest interior *cough*.

Go sit in a new Corvette.

I had an '09 with the optional "2LT" interior.

The GTI's interior is vastly superior to the Corvette's and the GTI's seats are simply amazing in comparison. The Corvette's stereo sucked.

I like the interior in my GTI, though I think the trim cloth (gray stuff - not the plaid material) is mediocre in terms of quality and durability.
