hi everyone :thumbsup:
i thought id get one of these journals started because ive finally got the funds to do stuff to my car.

i picked up a 1.2tsi in may 2012. i wanted a 2L but i was only 21 at the time and insurance in the UK is awful for young drivers.
[i couldnt afford one anyway ]
it had 13k on the clock so it was pretty much new. or as new as i could go without breaking the back, which i did anyway haha.

so here it is on day one



FIRST MOD
i didnt like the redness of the tail lights and couldnt afford to get the R LED tails, which i plan on getting soon.
so i got that nightshade stuff and did some DIY and it turned out pretty decent. i ddint want to go too dark so i only put on one coat.

SECOND MOD
in november i got lucky at the casino and managed to be £400 up in 10minutes :thumbup::bellyroll:
i decided to be a smart mofo and left instantly and bought myself this baby.



it isnt OEM but it has full europe satnav, bluetooth, sd slot, cd/dvd, usb and ipod connectivity. easiest and most flash upgrade to date! love it so much

nice, keep up the good work. I remember the insane insurance prices when I was studying in the UK and I believe that nothing has changed

so im not sure if i want to go with hyper silver R's or Black ones






what do you guys think? i stuck a poll up to make it a bit easier

they do look good but i had something similar on my mk4, as in it had lots of spokes. im trying to go with less spokes for a change. im open to suggestions though since i only recently decided on R's. i was originally going to go with BBS LMS lol as you can see with my mad photoshop skills :lol:

due to being an impatient bastard and the fact that the poll unanimously picked the silver over black ive gone and provisionally bought a set of 4x8x18" R reps! :happyanim:

just waiting to here back from the guy to see if he has vw centre caps

MOD 3 - SPRINGS LOWERED
DIY install, relatively hassle free (thankfully) :thumbsup:
did it at night as well so that added to the overall time but it was roughly 3.5 to 4hrs. it snowed today so i was lucky doing that last night in one go, otherwise I'd have been stuck with my car propped up in the snow lol.
anyway here is the result!

god its amazing how much wheels and lower profile tires transform a car if done right. silver looks good. if i saw it pass by and didn't see the rear of the car, id think it was an R initially.
