Any opinions on using a remanufactured pressure plate. Not sure what "remanufactured" really means in this situation.

I bought mine remanufactured and is holding up pretty well. Remanufactured basically means rebuild. They go through testing before shipping out. So its pretty safe i believe.

Good to hear it's working out for you. I really want to know if during the "remanufacture" process the friction surface is resurfaced or replaced or what.

Anyone have a current source for the clutch disk (1878 005 146)? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Any opinions on using a remanufactured pressure plate (07K 141 015 BX vs 07K 141 015 B)? I can't seem to find a new one anywhere either. Not sure what "remanufactured" really means in this situation.

Pretty sure i bought the last one from eeuroparts.com. Now i gotta find a good price on a DMF.

FYI the reman PP's usually require a core deposit. Adds ~$25.

I got mine on amazon oddly enough, along with the TOB and rear main seal lmao

Wow...I just read through all 68 pages over the past couple of days and I have some updates for those of you still looking to purchase these parts separately instead of buying the RSR Clutch Kit from HS Tuning. First off, I have nearly 88,000 miles on my '11 GTI with a stock clutch. It has a GIAC Stage II tune since 65,000 miles. These are the best prices I have found on parts so far...

My only problem is finding a Sachs DMFW. Could anyone please confirm where I can buy a Sachs DMFW instead of the LUK DMFW? Also, some of you bought the “Sachs 1878 004 698 OEM GTI Disc” instead of the “Sachs 1878 005 146 TDI Disc”. Which one is preferred and used in the RSR Clutch Kit by HS Tuning? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

The funny thing is, when I got my LUK DMF131 from parts geek, the FW said "made by sachs" on it....

It's not the same. I've been told by a reliable source that the Luk Flywheel is more money for less quality than the Sachs Flywheel. I went with the Sachs Flywheel, but suit yourself.
