Hi Guys, I don't want to find out the hard way - but when the trip computer says 0 miles left in the tank - how many do I have left before it splutters to a halt?

Hi Guys. Quick query. I have driven a few new Golfs including the one I own and without fail, on all of them, the needle on the gauge is spot on vertical (90 Deg C on EU dash) when it's warmed up.
Does anyone know whether this is a true temperature? I'm only being picky but I've never seen...
