Hey guys.
I’m currently running the digital cluster on my Mk6 GTI as a temporary band-aid as my OEM analog cluster has a LCD issue. It’s too dim even after adjusting the brightness. However, I’m planning to re-use back the oem analog cluster for the POLARFIS gauges. I’ve found a great deal for a donor cluster from a Mk6R.
My question is, can I just transfer the cluster’s motherboard from my oem analog cluster to the new donor Mk6 R without tripping the immo? I wouldn’t want the hassle of re-programming the of the Mk6R cluster as the dealership here charge a ton and it’s quite a hassle.
