CSB3: Desperate Need For A Smoke Machine In The East Coast, Canada Wildfires Don't Suffice Anymore

What Would Glenn Danzig Do
I feel like that's the brake fluid, that shit is gnarly. Then again plastic is made with oil, so maybe it's the oil.

Which reminds me, I need to take waste oil to the auto part store, and figure out where I can dispose of some old G12 (+? ++? +++++++? who knows) safely. Before someone mentions dumping it, our neighbors (who are awesome) have a dog (who's also awesome) and I'm trying to be a good neighbor as well.
Yeah, sucked big time. I knew something was wrong with it when I bought it a few months ago. It smelled terrible brand new and my hands smelled real bad after to touching it even when brand new. Only used it a few times. That's what I get for trying to save $15

Does this actually work out? I'm too busy at the moment to check the math, but I feel like when they are referring to holidays, sick days, and vacation days, they might be counting those as 24 hours off instead of 8.
They are, came in to say the same thing.

By their logic you only work 24 hours in a year if you don't "take that one day off".

So why is a work week 40 hours?

Yeah, it's odd that it's only March and I'm over 300 hours of regular time already haha (this excludes a vacation, some random days off, and holidays).

Here a simpler formula without the monkey math

FTE = 2080 hours assuming a 40 hour work week

2 Days Sick = (16) Hours
5 Holiday = (40) Hours
14 Vacation = (112) Hours

Leaving you with 1,912 working hours.

Take your days off.

Notice I didn't decrease for the "30 minute break" which is of course required by law. I'm being generous including the sick/holidays/vacations as reductions as well because I would argue the only ones that should count are those above and beyond what is mandated by local state law.

no it definitely doesn't work out, just a fun read and a brain teaser.

Also i saw a sign at a sandwich shop the other day that i thought was funny. had to look it up to try to debunk the math - you actually work around 60-80 days a year (if an accumulation of 24h periods)

So You Want the Day Off??

Lets take a look at what you are asking for......

There are 365 days per year available for work.

There are 52 weeks per year in which you already have two days off per week - leaving 261 days available for work.

Since you spend 16 hours each day away from work, you have used up 170 days - leaving only 91 days available.

You spend 30 minutes each day on coffee break. That accounts for 23 days each year - leaving only 68 days available.

With a hour lunch period each day you have used up another 46 days - leaving only 22 days available for work.

You normally spend 2 days on sick leave - leaving you only 20 days available for work.

We are off for 5 holidays per year, leaving you only 15 days to work.

We generously give you 14 days vacation per year - which leaves only 1 day for work.

So NO! You can't take that day off !!!!!
this sounds like an awful place to work.

heres another idea:

could have days here to touch on fun things

* Story Sundays
* My (Job Sucks) Mondays
* Titty Tuesdays
* Wheelhouse Wednesdays
* Touch my Peen Thursdays
* Fun Fact Fridays
* Slacking Saturdays

Oh that's interesting - like you just gotta keep your numbers up and stuff, then you can be off much as you like?

I get 23 pto days and 6 holiday days
Unlimited PTO here haha. As long as you get your work done and your manager approves it, you can take off. Pretty sure there's some study that says people end up taking less time off in this kind of arrangement. Looks like I ended up taking 21 days of PTO and then whatever holidays.

WHY DID YOU VOLUNTEER THEN

@riceburner did his best, and ae appreciate the effort. But it's clear he lacks the homeless person stamina to keep up with the thread like it's OT in 13 - 15. We tried the experiment, it's failing, just merge this thread with CSB2 to restore balance to the universe and be done with it.
