gti lower mesh grill

has anybody tried to fit the center lower grill of the gti on to a gt tdi ,it looks the same shape,
anybody tried this ?

i tried a one i got off ebay for £10 it does not fit but i had to try , i am sure some one will bring an after market one out soon to fit the gtd

it was to high and the fittings were slightly different i never give it a though to chop it up and try to modify it ,i am sure somebody will make an aftermarket one for our cars shortly
