Hey All. I've got 185K on my stock IHI turbo and I am trying to be prudent and plan for a fresh turbo as I start to push more boost through it. I've already got a new cartridge for the rebuild but I am wondering if anyone has done this before. I wonder if it's worth it or if I should just buy a rebuilt turbo and sell mine with the new cartridge.
I am not having turbo issues as of yet, and I don't know if I am being overly cautious. So any opinions on that would be helpful, as well. Also, I don't want to upgrade the turbo because it opens up a whole world of ... stressful fun? ... that I no longer want to have in my life with my daily driver.
