steady burn for parking lights

Does anyone know if it's possible to program our cars via VAGCOM to do the dim steady burn on the turn signals (for while you are parked)... I know it is a standard option in Europe, so I figure it can't be that hard. I really like the idea of having that option, and if there were any way to set that up it would be pretty sweet. By the way, what is that called so I don't continue to sound like an idiot when I explain it to people.

Similar to that, but I am referring to the function where when you are parked curbside, you can flip your turn signal in order to dimly light the side of your car that is in the road. It is in a lot of cars in Europe, and my dad's 2003 M3 had it as well.

How long do you think your battery would last leaving your lights on?
