Is there anyone out there who got in on this settlement and was paid?

Mine failed a couple months ago which is passed the Jan '19 deadline. My VIN is included too. I'm pissed! Does anyone know if there is any recourse I can take?

I thought this was the case as well.
OP - have you had your dealership run your VIN to see if it’s covered?

I'm looking at a 2013 and ran the VIN on the above site and it didn't show up as being included. Does that mean the car has the update tensioner and timing chain?

It was updated halfway through the 2012 MY (around September 2011 build date), so all 2013s have the updated ones.

I received my settlement last week. $1100 which was the maximum for not having it done at the dealer (I did it myself). Took over a year I think to get the check.

Preventative maintenance. I have a 2010 and I did it before the class action suite came about. I was pretty paranoid about a failure.

BTW, filing was a total pain in the ass. The documentation requested was over the top. In addition, my claim was invalidated initially and it was totally bogus. I had to call them and ask what was actually wrong with the claim. Turned out nothing. They made a mistake. They sent me a subsequent letter saying all was good and then I got a second letter claiming I was not compliant! I called back again to straighten them out. So, there was a lot of pain involved. Had I any inclination there would be a class action I would've taken to the dealer and had the tensioner and chains replaced. Reimbursement through a dealer would've been far easier.

Interesting. I also did mine myself as preventative maintenance but figured I had zero chance of seeing any kind of reimbursement through the class action lawsuit so I didn't bother to file. Good for you for persevering and seeing some $$$ back.
