The article of Worldcarfans says: "Volkswagen Golf fans will probably be cheering over the latest offering from VW. Rear LED lights for the Golf VI are now optionally available for €350 but come standard on the Golf GTD, Golf GTI and Golf R."

So do we know from which build week LED tail lights will come as a standard?

(I'm on order (VI GTI with Bi-Xenon if that matters) since 9th Nov, and no build week yet, so, it would be nice to know from someone else except my dealer)

Direct from Volkswagen's official press release (which you can read in full HERE):

"Trendsetter Golf: For the first time in the compact class, LED rear lights will now be offered on the Volkswagen compact: A concise night design is standard equipment on the Golf R, and on the Golf GTI and GTD it is available as an option for 350 Euros."

would never be standard on US spec anyway

If it's similarly priced to the MkV OEM LEDs (Valeo), which run around $700 then minus the base lights ($300 or so), it's probably about a $400 option from the factory.
