For sale RNS-315 navigation system from my 2011 GTI Autobahn. Comes with user manual, radio code, and brand new GPS antenna.

Good looking easy touch screen interface, and much faster than the RNS-510 (even newest version E/F which I have now). Excellent condition.

A DIY I found for RCD 510 to RNS 510 upgrade in a CC.
Should be 90% the same for RCD 310/510 to RNS 315.
Only difference I can think of is the compass is in the rear hatch roof area in the GTI.

DIY

Compass Disconnect

Basically

Radio

1) Remove trim around radio
2) Remove (4) torx-20 screws holding radio in
3) Pull radio straight out and disconnect all cables in the back
4) Place the included GPS antenna in the vent area above the radio enclosure.
5) Reconnect all the cables
6) Reverse steps from 3
7) Enter radio code when prompted

Compass

1) Remove trim piece in the rear roof area
2) Pull down head liner
3) Disconnect compass
4) Snap headliner and trim back on

VCDS

Use VCDS to reprogram the radio/navigation and/or telephone modules. Kinda simple.


If you have bluetooth and Sirius radio already (which I believe all MK6 GTI's came with?), all you need is the included GPS antenna for installation.

Install should take less than an hour. Please confirm your specs and hardware compatibility beforehand. Thanks.
