APR intake.. flute noise?

Hey everyone,

So I'm looking into getting an APR stage 1 intake and as I was doing my research online, I came across a few other intakes that have a weird flute noise under hard acceleration. My question is, does the APR stage 1 intake have this same issue. I couldn't really find an answer to this while looking online.

Are you stage 1 tuned along with the intake? It's probably your dv if you are still using the stock one.

I think this more of an issue with some of the full length open filter intakes. Unitronic is notorious for making the sound.

I don't have the intake yet, but I am Stage 1.

FWIW I have the COBB intake and it sounds like Mario 3 running when I get up to a hard 4-6k rpm.

Hahaha EXACTLY. My gauge cluster has that P bar to tell me when I can fly.

My APR stage 1 intake is pretty quiet as far as intakes on turbo cars go, flute noise could perhaps be a leak somewhere? Boost, vacuum, diverter valve? Not 100% sure but worth looking into!

Exact same thing here, catches me off guard every once in a while too. have you tried anything to fix it, or is it not really an issue.

I was reading online that a GFB DV+ usually does the trick on getting rid of that noise.

I had APR stage 1 and 2 air intake pretty much from the day I bought my mk6 GTI and it has sung like a choir every time I put my foot on the gas. I recently decided I had enough of it and changed the DV to the upgraded version "D" and the gospel choir stopped.
