Fuel filter lines crack after install?

I swapped fuel filter a couple hundred miles ago, today I went to start and got an unlimited crank, checked the street and I smelled that sweet 91 octane. I checked the filter and the bottom connection was off. It doesn't snap back on and it looks like a small crack inside the connector. I am 99.9% sure I didn't break it but all in all its fucked, I electrical tapped it to the filter and to the other line. I'm on the road but is there a way to re connect them after taking them off? They should just snap back on and that's it right? Also how hard to drop the tank and swap that line?
