Anyone manage to get this working? My iphone is paired with the RCD 310, but it doesn't want to stream the stereo? - it works fine as a mono headset for calling, but not for stereo audio.

The RCD 310 must be A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) compliant to be able to stream music via Bluetooth.

RCD310 is not A2DP compliant so thus it dosent work. Shame as it could work very well.

But it sais in the manual that RCD310 infact is A2DP compliant... but I'm not even succeeding to pair my IPhone with my stereo. I suspect it's something wrong with the phone, I will have to try with an SE or Nokia.

I don't have a GTi yet, nor do I have any experience with Bluetooth, cars, and phone pairing (a bluetooth mouse for my computer is as crazy as I've gotten).

Could someone explain exactly what you CAN do with the iphone and the RCD310?

If you pair the phone with the car, can you receive and make calls?

Do the phone buttons on the steering wheel work?

Do the buttons let you scroll through your phone's contact list?

Is there at least a way to plug your iPhone into the stereo to listen to your music?

My apologies for any stupid questions. I just don't know what to expect. My current, borrowed car only has an Auxiliary jack for me to plug my iPhone/iPod into, and my non-running Camaro only has a tape deck (1998 will do that to a stereo).

iphone / any phone solution

I also have an iphone and a company blackberry, but neither will work with the bluetooth telephony package on the golf I was told this by VW themselves. which in todays day and age you wouldnt expect?

Ive spoken with a Car Hi-Fi /Media specialist outfit in my area and for approx £500 you can get a system installed which will be fully integrated with the Golk mk6 GTi multi function steering wheel. I think its made by parrott.

For this reason alone i didnt take up the option for the bluetooth telephony kit offered by VW when i ordered my GTi. It only works with Nokia andi think samsung.

Hope this helps

Hi Guys,

This system actually works really well, once you've figured out one tiny little detail.

You switch to Media mode on the RCD310 (make sure you have already enabled Bluetooth Audio from the RCD310 Menu).

Initially once you've gone to Media mode it'll just look like you haven't actually got anythign but the trick is you have to have the iPod app running on your phone and click play from the phone. Then it'll start receiving the audio.

Basically the car just acts as a receiver and everything has to be controlled via the phone. It's not really any different to the Aux-In in the glove box except you don't need the steros cable is all.

Cheers

Awesome! I just found this forum and had the same question about using the RCD310 to stream music. I just picked up my 2011 Golf 2.5 and got the auxiliary cable to hook up my iphone, but it doesn't sound that great and the cable is a pain since the auxiliary jack isn't near the 12 volt power supply, so you need 2 wires coming form 2 different places going to your phone to play music and charge your phone - not to nice looking. Now I can keep the phone in the storage area near the shifter, plugged into power, and just stream music! Awesome, thanks! :happyanim:
