Help! Dealing with VWOA re: sagging headliner

Update for anyone interested. Here at the dealership, close to three hour wait, and the service advisor tells me VWOA is willing to split cost of $1004 (which is at the dealer rate of cost, consumer rate would be about $1400).

I let him know it was a nice offer, just not feasible, knowing I'll just be back in here in 3 years for the same mess. SA urged me to call VWOA on the spot to negotiate, but I think I'll have better luck if I wait. From other posts, seems like VWOA contacts you with a follow up offer. Any thoughts?

LOL. That price is insane, it's the same thing the dealer down here quoted me when I went. And even if you were to pay half of that and the dealer the rest, it's still more than I paid. Plus the VW headliner is just going to fail again after a while. Either do it yourself, like Sterkrazzy did, or get it done by a good independent upholsterer, which is what I did. They matched the Titan black material and color in my car to perfection, and it cost me $200.
