I’d like to have only marker lights on, parked, with engine running.

Sometimes I work as a checkpoint for Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) car rallies (http://nwrally.org/). I need to park on the right side of the road facing traffic and want the competitors to find me without running me over. Sometimes it is pretty cold, rainy, or snowing and I want the car running. I’d like to have the small markers lights lit but none others (see attached picture). I can get this to happen with my light switch in far right position, with the e-brake on, and the GTI off (see attached picture). As soon as I start the engine the headlights come on. Is there any way (VagCom?) that I can start the engine with the e-brake on and just have these marker lights on?

Did you install the trigger wire to run your parking lights?

D'oh! I'll try to figure out how to hook that up. I was wondering what that did.

Run the wire from Pin 3 on the euroswitch to Pin 19 on the CECM (black one on the left).

its really easy, pick up a euro switch if you don't already have one for like 30 bucks too, well worth it

I have the euro switch. I just didn't know what that wire did and it seemed like a PITA to hook it up. I'll hook it in tomorrow.
