Golf R LED Tail Lights

I just want some clarification. Tonight I had a chance to have someone hit the brakes while it was dark enough out to really see these lights in action. This seems to be something that's been brought up a few pages back but maybe I'm misunderstanding things...

I had to code byte 18 to 1F to eliminate the bulb out error and get proper functionality.

What I'm seeing is this: with the lights set to on, all four tails are lit dimly (expected and correct). When I hit the brakes, only the outer lights go bright...the inner ones stay dim. Is this correct or not?

^^That is correct and acts the same as the stock incandescent tails.

Cool...just making sure I didn't pick the wrong coding. We tried 55 first and it acted crazy...flickering and only one reverse light. I'm glad I went with cherry, too. They really POP out at you on CSG.

For installation the R20 tail lamp to VW mk6 golf except R20, there should be necessary the cording job.

Just picked up a set from a user here! Please confirm this:
With tinted/NO fog, will I have two reverse lights or just one?
Thanks :)

You will have 2 reverse lights, symmetrical look from both sides of vehicle.

Installed mine today, Anyone else have any issue with their drivers side reverse light staying on all the time?

Not sure if your tail lights got fixed but I just coded one of these last night for the same issue. Byte 18 was coded incorrectly, I changed the value to 55* Note: w/the new 11.11v of VCDS changing values for Byte 18 are a little different, but its easy to figure out.

09 Central Electronics > Coding > Long Coding Helper > Byte 18 to 55*

*this value is for halogens and LED tails w/o the rear fog.
