Broken AFS

IVVVIKris

Ready to race!
The metal arm on my AFS sensor is missing, leaving the plastic arm to hang freely. Does anyone know where I can buy just that metal arm or a suitable replacement?

Not sure. Contact Paul @ DeutscheAutoParts -- maybe he can help you out.

In the meantime, I would try to improvise something. Worse case scenario, it breaks again and you need to buy it anyway.

You can't just replace the metal. The part is sold as a whole kit. I'm seen some people jimmy rig it back, but I don't recall how it was done...

I replaced the entire sensor, cleared the related codes, took it for a test drive but I'm still getting the AFS Failure message on the dash and the following codes below. I re-checked the wiring connector to the sensor and it's on tight. Going to check the AFS controller next. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

oh huh... what about the pins in the connector? could they have been slightly pulled out? as i recall you saying one of your errors is a short.

The connector on the sensor has all 4 pins, and the wiring has 3 contacts. I looked up pics of other wiring connectors and their contact count and arrangement are the same. I'm super stumped, going to check fuses next
