JSW TDI to 4Motion Conversion

So it's looking like I and going to need to switch the transmission to the the differential and constant power to the transfer case.

This will set me back a little bit. A month or so.

I have sourced a cracked tranny that we may be able to use the internals. I am looking for a dsg specialist now.

So we do need the tranny, it wont just bolt up n work? Pmed you my address btw

I don't follow you on this...what could be different with the gearbox? It's not like 4 motion cars have front spools or LSD. They have standard diffs the same as 2wd models as far as I know.

From what I understand so far and it's not much is the tranny for a 4mo constantly sends power to the transfer case. The 2wd will not have to same diff to be able to do that.

Have you looked at part numbers for 2wd and awd diffs?

It's extremely hard to pull the internal part numbers. In ETKA they call it non serviceable. My info is coming from Chris at Revo. I found a 4mo tranny with less then 10 KM in Germany. I am checking to see if he will post to the States.

I can't believe I am about to say this but have you asked APR?

I know it's a long shot since everything is a big fucking secret with them but it is worth a shot to ask

This thread is awesome and congrats on having the courage/balls to be one of the first to pull this off. Another resource that might prove to be beneficial is unitronic. They converted a mkv rabbit to 4motion and turbo'd the engine among other things. Pretty impressive build.

Oh. And I plan on going down the same road when I run out f warranty. K04 is on the list too.

Letting me loose of eBay Germany for a few hours is a scary idea. I found some really cool things. Like distance control, traffic sign readers, and a lot of other great things.

So many VW toys and not enough money to play with them all.
