I thought BOVs weren't recommended for these cars? And only DVs did the job correctly?

There is a lot of back and forth on the topic. Both "do the job" in terms of releasing pressure when you let off the throttle. DVs just recirculate the air and BOVs vent it atmospherically.

Having ran both in the past, I can tell you the difference in performance is negligible.

Personally, I just love the sound haha

Yeah, that sound is pretty intoxicating to be honest. Though, I'm fairly happy with how my DV+ sounds with a CAI and the hood blanket removed.

Yup that's exactly it! The ECU is accounting for air that isn't there.

That is a pretty good combo! I also have my hood blanket removed.
