Ah those are about in line with I would expect to pay.
Didn't they do 6k off MSRP and 0% APR for 60 month when they first came out? everyone hated that body for some reason. And gas at $5 a gallon and 18mpg didn't help.

I just got a new job... starting next monday... solid raise too... YOLO? And pull trigger on S4 instead ?! decisions decisions... My commute will be all by train now so Fuck MPG. :laugh:

There are two 2008 M3 in Illinois with over 60k miles for under $33k. None in ks.

They're out of warranty and four years old. I'd still take that V8 any day over the turbo 6. German lux mobiles tank in value after years 3-4.

so maxtdi, i think we are both in the same situation here. i CAN take the train to work, i just like driving. but IF i get a golf R i definitely will be taking the train. and i just recently got a new job (April), and i make double what i did at my last job. should we nut on this and get the R? its been in the back of my mind for at least the past 2 months and now im thinking about it daily.

I don't know if I would trust an M3 of that vintage with that many miles.
A low mile (40k or less) example is over 40k every day.
Look, I had a 2011 DSG GTI Autobahn w/ APR 1+ and I traded for a 2013 Golf R. I'm not upset at all. It wasn't the best financial decision in the world but I love it. I can get some wicked snow here in the midwest, and the 4Motion is going to be fantastic. Is the interior mostly like an Autobahn package? Yes. Can you put a K04 in a GTI? Yes. No chance to get a 4Motion in a GTI. Look, I really liked my GTI, but I LOVE my R. I just feel right in it. Get in some cars, drive them, and you'll find the one for you.
Maybe I like being completely different. I see a handful of GTIs. I've seen two other R's around town. I have already ordered HPA Stage 2+ mods along with the Haldex "Competition" controller, and I know no one else is going to have my car. And I can't wait to blow the doors off Mustangs and Camaros and BMW 3 series (excluding Ms).
