KDR Motorwerks Release: TSI Grounding Kit

zeonic

mmm.... beer
These do help but don't expect night and day difference out of them. I have seen this done on a MK5 with positive results, will add to my "eventually to do" list.

This seems like a "Monster Cable" scheme to me.

"Our beta testers experienced some performance gains"

But, you won't attempt to prove this in ANY way...

Basically 50 bucks for $2.00 worth of cables and a "bracket" with no actual reproducible evidence of improvement anywhere? I'll pass. I really doubt that VAG barfed up some horrible engineering that left all sorts of components improperly grounded to the extent that this is necessary.

No scheme here bud. We could prove the gains on a dyno but would YOU really believe the dyno if you saw a change around 5hp? Probably not, but you would probably go on flaming saying its $2 worth of cables. Which is wrong again like your original comment.

You really believe VAG is perfect and does not cut corners or goof up on engineering? I also thought the same about Toyota with their accelerator pedal issue and BMW with their HPFP problems.

Is it possible that simply cleaning the rust out of the ground contacts in the engine bay would have done the same thing?

5 horsepower? You're REALLY grasping at straws here lol. This is total garbage. Anyone who actually buys this...:bellyroll::bellyroll::bellyroll:

You can get 100ft of 4AWG power/ground cable for 50-60 bucks and that is not even wholesale/bulk. Connectors are cheap. I 'may' have underestimated how much it actually costs you to make this kit by a few (literally) dollars, but my point remains. For one: not a necessary purchase, and secondly: overpriced for something I could have 'engineered' in my basement with scrap metal.

This will be my final reply to your baseless comments. Will correct you for the last time...

Even though our Grounding kit does improve performance in many ways, we will not make claims that our kit makes x amount of HP. We are not selling this kit for HP gains but rather for drive-ability and improvement for a daily driver.

Show me pictures of measurements from a REAL ohmmeter (not a multimeter, if you are legitimate in your testing and development, you'll have an actual ohmmeter).

Take measurements from each "component" that your grounding kit affects, from the device to the engine block both with AND without your kit, so that we can see the difference. Maybe then I'll believe your claims that this grounding technique is superior to VAG's engineering. I still don't believe that even with 5-10 times less resistance, it would make enough difference in the measurement and communication of the components to cause a 5hp increase though, so it's still going to be tough to sell me on that.

I did aircraft wiring and avionics repair for 6 years in the Army working on $40mil UH-60M Blackhawks, so please understand why I'm skeptical, my concerns are hardly "baseless", but if that helps you sleep at night, continue to believe yourself there.

SO how about sending me a free sample to test out. I drive my GTI 80 miles/day through the highway, city, and rural areas so i'll be able to test it in different areas. I also give honest non bias reviews  let me know if you're interested in working something out.

I think I'm going to pick up a spool of wire and butt connectors. Who wants a set. $10 bucks.
