This is why we needed to slow the spread. The faster it spread, the faster the virus mutates. Sometimes viruses mutate themselves of out, which is what happened with SARA, which is what the Trump administration banked on. Unfortunately, it's now more contagious and it's looking like the vaccine may not work on at least one of the new variants.

The point of slowing the spread was to buy time to develop a vaccine or treatment, and reduce the number of mutations, which are now exploding.
