What model/year/stage?

Anyone who thinks the throttle is more sensitive than before, please respond with details about their tunes so I can investigate.

Thanks

I'm experiencing a strange issue. 19 GTI with Stg2 E30 v2.51 tune. I'm getting a CEL for intermittent communication with the secondary O2 sensor. The issue first occurred last night. I cleared the codes and drove for a bit to see if it returned. The CEL returned today for the same code. I've had my secondary O2 unplugged per the recommendation on the FAQ page for several months now and never had this happen before. I've been on v2.51 since it was released and was on v2.50 before that. I also checked for dirt and debris inside the unplugged connector and didn't find anything. Did anything change with v2.51 in relation to the secondary O2 sensor? Should it still be left unplugged? Almost seems like it was a routine test or readiness check of sorts. Any ideas to troubleshoot this?

Since you are serious about investigating, do you see some potential issues here? I'm a bit OCD, but I have almost nothing but good things to say about 2.51.

I don’t see any potential issues, but I’m always open to checking out any reports, especially when it’s more than 1/2 cases.

Nothing has changed in that regard. What is the actual code you’re getting?

Hey Ed, 2020 A3 DSG Stage 1 91. I noticed my throttle has been touchy when taking off from idle. Never had tune before 2.51 so can't compare to previous versions.

I have experienced the jerky and sudden surges behavior mention.

2020 GTI Autobahn
DSG
Stage 2 93 Octane
V2.51
Sport

Don't know if it is relevant or not but since I didn't had a V2.50 Stage 2 93 Octane tune to downgrade too for experimentation but I had a Stage 2 91 Octane V2.51, I decided to downgraded to this one and it seems to be running better for me. I only filled with 93 Octane here in Texas.

Which year/model/stage/fuel do you have? Are you having the same experience in D and S?

Throttle sensitivity does increase right after a flash, but it usually subsides over a few miles.
I'm driving a 6 speed, but the engine is always in sport. 2015 GTI, Stage 2 93 oct. I've done a few hundred miles now and you're right, I think the sensitivity has gone back to how it was, or I'm used to it now, or both. Either way, no longer feels odd.

The blip with the clutch in remains odd though, I'm having to learn to almost wave my foot in the direction of the clutch pedal rather than actually touch it to get the revs up from idle to about 1200. If I blip it the way I did on 2.50, it flies up to 2000rpm. This is only when I'm in 1st but with the clutch depressed, moving very slowly, and am about to let the clutch out, I give it a tiny blip to keep it smooth when the clutch engages. I'm not having any trouble rev matching as normal at higher speeds.

Also hitting 29.9lbs of boost now which I think is up by a little over half a lb over 2.50? I assume that's fine, although we'll see how long my 111k mile IS20 can take it, ha.

Does anybody actually notice the valve switch over happening at 3.5k rpms instead of 3.1k? I dunno if that's a thing GTIs do, but anytime I notice the valve switch over it always happens around 3.1k. I thought with v2.51 it was supposed to be around 3.5k. It's a hard thing to notice at WOT, but casual driving in traffic the valve switch over is still at 3.1k.

The throttle will definitely be more sensitive compared to stock. But it should be smooth and predictable once you get used to it.
