2.5 No power on acceleration

Hope that this is in the correct place. When accelerating from a stop Golf will some times loose all engine power. As today moving away from a stop and wanting to get up to the speed of traffic car would not go above 3K RPM.
Lifted off the accelerator pedal and back on it and all was good.
At other times trying to accelerate car takes off as normal suddenly RPM drops to idle speed 850 RPM, get off accelerator pedal and all goes back to normal.
This has happened several times and feel it is dangerous.
Reported it to the dealer and reported back no codes and sent me on my way.
Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like its going into limp mode

It should throw a code if its going into limp mode.

NO code and did an Italian tune-up. Fun and no more power loss, must do this again soon. :thumbup:
