Best wheel and tire size

Curious about best wheel and tire sizes for some new shoes. I do plan to lower suspension, not sure how low. Also thought I read that sizes may vary between tdi gti and golf.

depensd on size of wheel, how low you are, how wide the wheel is, etc

Like to drop ride height with some modesty, not too low but noticeable. I dint think I wouldnt want to go bigger then 18 s and even they might be too big.

18x8 wheel get 225/40R18 size tire unless your really low or the offset is pretty aggressive on the wheels. Et45+ should be fine, if its more aggressive or you're lower maybe go for a 215 for a minor stretch
