What factory functions do you lose with this unit? I see a GPS port in the back - this can be plugged in to GPS antenna and have navigation?

Does this set up allow you to retain functionality of the steering wheel controls? Will buy if so.

Question 1 re nav: to be honest I dont know about the use of factory GPS antenna...however the reason I dont know is because Android Auto / Apple CarPlay is all I ever used and that fully integrates live nav up on the screen. No other features lost especially with the Sirius module included.

Question 2 re steering controls: yes, with an adapter...there is a port on the back of the unit for it. My wheel didnt have buttons or else I'd have used that.

How easy is the removal of factory head unit and installing this?

Anyone have any idea how much the adapter costs to utilize steering wheel controls?

I do not mind losing my navigation because Google Maps with Carplay would be so much better. I never use my factory navigation these days.

Dead easy to remove. 4 screws and 1 plastic bezel.

About 60 bucks for the adapter I think.

Still somewhat interested.

Question...where did you put the apple connector?

Ran a high grade usb extension under the middle console or whatever and replaced the 'aux' port with a female usb connector. Then I could plug my phone in right there or a usb flash drive etc. but its perfect because the phone sat right in the cup holder.

I'll double check but I'll even throw in those wires as I think I kept them before trading it in.
