Very interesting, thank you for thisYes, it was my main reason for that choice. Its either variant of the IHI RHF5 (it's not a K03). I sent my own Core, so I didn't have to wait for them to source a CBFA turbo.
The TT was a EA888.2. The GTI was a EA888.1. They differed. Both used an IHI turbo.
K03 is a Borg Warner Name.
Borg Warner made an aftermarket replacement K03 unit for the EA888.1. You can look them up with part numbers 5303 98 0105 and 5303 98 0106s
The EA888 is the VW code for the engine in our GTI's (and a number of VW group cars), I believe to date there has been 3 generations of this engine. What is EA.888.2? If that's my turbo, you are incorrect. Its off a Gen 1 core.
I know this information NA MK6 GTI's did not ever come with GEN2 engines. He mentioned TT IDK if he meant TTE.The EA888 is the VW code for the engine in our GTI's (and a number of VW group cars), I believe to date there has been 3 generations of this engine.
I believe Arin is meaning the 2nd generation of the EA888 motor with "EA888.2" and the first generation with "EA888.1"

Probably referring to Audi TT which shares engines with VW Golf line.I know this information NA MK6 GTI's did not ever come with GEN2 engines. He mentioned TT IDK if he meant TTE.
