raceland coilovers.

they're $300 brand new.

they're great for the price, they just don't go that low and the spring rate is too soft so if you take quick turns you'll feel a lot of body roll.

yeah i'll be selling them for $200 sometime at the end of february.

they are really heavy, i can imagine shipping would cost an arm and a leg.

DJ, Not sure if your still here, and this is way off topic, but I just wanted to confirm that what we talked about with modifying the racelands beyond just cutting the dead coil is possible. I think its possible to get below 23" FTG with out effecting spring rate.

*And I'm nocturnal right now too.

haha of course i'm still here where else would i be.

RS, are you trying to get me to not buy my FK's haha seems like a stance guru like you would be in favor of me killing the racelands with fire as soon as possible.

i feel like if i start modding them, they'll just break prematurely.

Oh, they'll break, eventually. The funny thing is, the modifications I've done to raceland's have not effected spring rates, or travel. The next thing I want to try continues this trend. So really, if you modify your bumpstops in the rear, whats there to break? I'm not suggesting racelands are better than FK's, just saying for some one on a budget I think its possible to pull of some serious stance, even on racelands. The only issue I foresee is the whole assembly will get so short that adjustable endlinks will be required.

...just saying :D, I have a set in my garage at the moment and I was mulling over my idea just yesterday. Funny you should bring it up

yeah but i'm over the whole rushing into everything thing, i mean, i still have plenty of time throughout the winter to save cash before i can sit low.

i'm gonna go for quality this time around...

but just out of curiosity, i do want to see what fully modded racelands are capable of so whenever you get around to modding them and hooking up someones car, take a pic and post it.

Depends on the look you're going for, and whats available to you in RSA. I'd say if you were trying to pull off alphards you'd want FK's streetlines at the least.

thats definitely pushing it. at that point you would have to do a lot of fender and camber work to make it happen.

look at it this way, the lower the offset, the more poke, the wider the wheel, the more poke, so if you're running low offset and wider wheels, they'll stick out like crazy.

compare it to stock... 18x8 et51

Wait, I thought there was more like a $4-500 difference between Streetlines and Silverlines and only a $300 difference between Streetlines and Highsports. IMO zinc plating and dampening adjustment is worth $300, but probably not $500. Also, no I really don't think theres a $300 difference between Streetlines and Highsports since the only difference is the plating.

Also 8.5J et32 isn't that crazy if your low with rolled fenders and a 205/40.

Double edit: Smallest 19" tire they still make is a 215/35, and I'd not recommend that from what I've heard about the roads in South Africa. I'm all for small tires, but cutting down that much sidewall is a bent wheel waiting to happen.
