Hey guys, I'm new here just sold my Jeep Wrangler for a 2011 GTI with 53,000 miles. Two weeks later the check engine light came on and I went to the dealer and got the intake manifold replaced under warranty. While doing that they asked if I wanted to do a carbon cleaning for $400 I turned it down because I thought that was a lot of money and also I wasn't sure what it was. So I guess my question is, what is the carbon cleaning?

Their are tons of threads about this it's because of the direct injection motor creates carbon that affects the engine performance. Since they are replacing the intake manifold it would be pretty easy for them to do 400 isn't to bad with that many miles I would do it. It will feel like a new engine. That's just my opinion though.

Roger that, I was never aware of that when they did it I thought the price was high but I will definitely get it done next time.
