hi guys, i have bought parking sensors from aidu store on aliexpress. it is 8k set, and i have finished complete installation. Now everything works fine except auto activation of front sensors. I have this option available on multimedia display, and it is ON, but nothing is happened when I try to trigger front sensors driving near some object.
At the moment parking sensors are activated only when put in reverse or via switch beside gear lever.
My golf is MY 2016(end), and I have changed gateway from LOW to High.
May you help me with this issue?

@Guro Do you have it coded in the PDC module? Most likely Byte 03 Bit 4, but use the long coding helper in VCDS (if that's what you're using for coding).

If you have OBDEleven I don't know what it has for descriptions but you can try changing Byte 03 Bit 4 then see how it behaves... can always change it back.

There are also some other channels that have to be active in 5F. Even with the menu active the other channels need to be correct so your menu selections are sent to the PDC module.
In the link it shows module 76, your PDC might be module 10, but that doesn't matter.

I do not have factory multimedia system, i have replaced it with android device. but I also tried with factory device, and I have make modifications for 5f, but situations is the same.

when I installed PDC on the car was low gateway, meantime it is replaced with HIGH version, but auto activation of front sensors are not working.

hi guys, again me :)

i will try in one post to write all problems i have with this retrofit

1. all wires from the front to the back of the car are on the left side, and that was mistake, now I have wrong reading from the sensor, sides are switched, and I am thinking what is the easiest solution for this. re-pin the connector or something else?

2. I have front and rear speaker, but every sound is heard only from front speaker. I expected that when rear sensors are triggered that sound will be heard from the back speaker.

3. as I mention earlier, AutoStart of front parking sensors not work.

4.sometimes when I put in reverse, and going in reverse from parking spot, if front sensor are triggered there is no sound notification, only on display i can see that I am near of some obstacle. when rear sensor is triggered sound can be heard in that situation and after that front sensors can be heard

i will put later screenshots from VCDS with all coding

Hi guys, one month later after enabling auto activation of front sensors, I noticed one problem.
Front sensors are easily trigered, even if there is no any obstacle in front. This is not issue on asphalt road, but on any other type of road sensors detects obstacle, and it is usually displayed on the screen as it is on less of 0.5m in front...
Has anyone had problems like this?

Hello everyone,

I really hope some one can help me with a problem I am having regarding my golf 7, 8 OPS parking sensor retrofit:

Currently I connected everything and I am running "testing" phase before drilling holes in my bumpers so wiring looms are connected to sensors but are on laid on the ground.... car is disassembled, seats are not present in the car and battery was disconnected a few times....

Everything is connected but have a problem on dash when trying to activate ParkPilot with button:

Button works just fine, orange when pressed.....

IMG_3626.JPG

Menu in infotainment unit for ParkPilot working as well... buzzers giving feedback when changing volume....only problem I saw is that all feedback is coming through front speaker even when changing volume for "rear" speaker (is this normal behavior or?)

IMG_3623.JPG

IMG_3625.JPG

But when I press ParkPilot button or change my gear to "Reverse" I get an error "ParkPilot currently unavailable" on my infotainment screen as well as "error ParkPilot" on my dash as shown above (battery was disconnected a few times thats why so many errors on the dash).

Connection to parklift module possible, changing coding possible as well...
ERROR.PNG

I checked live fault in PDC module and get error above with "DataBus"...

Also things that were changed via coding:

19 CAN Gateway - Installation List - 10 Park/Steer Assist - ticked

5F Infotainment - Adaptation:
Vehicle function list
- BAP-parking_assist_0x0A activated
- Vehicle menu operation-menu_display_pdc activated

Vehicle menu
- Operation-menu_display_pdc_over_threshold_high activated

PDC module programed as followed:
byte 1.PNG

byte 2.PNG

byte 3.PNG

byte 4.PNG

Im kinda stuck now and dont have any clue what could the problem be here? any help would be highly appreciated
:)

As I know Park Pilot working with 12 PDC sensors- not with 8 pdc.
I made on my own this retrofit and all working good but I installed 12 pdc sensors.

As I said- you need PLA modul (not 8k sensor).
To make it works properly you need to instal 12 sensors and modue PLA (not Parkhilfe 8k)
After that Park Pilot will works properly
I am going for 8k sensors (4 front and 4 rear) PLA with 12 sensors is for Park Assist which I dont need..... I think you are confusing Park Pilot with Park Assist ....
Largest difference between the Park Pilot and Park Assist features is the level of control the vehicle has during the parking process. With Park Pilot, the driver remains in control of all functions of the vehicle. With Park Assist, the vehicle is in control of steering during the parking process (thats why it needs 12 sensors)..
