Random multiple misfires

After almost 20K miles on my 2012 K04 GTI I began to experience random multiple misfires on all four cylinders, 2400-3000 rpm. The dealer replaced the hpfp, manifold, all four injectors, coilpack & plugs. All this did nothing but make it worse. I now have been told it's most likely a software issue. I called apr to ask them what to do, they said take it to an apr dealer, have them run logs & send the data to them. After reading numerous reports on the internet, it doesn't look like there is going to be an inexpensive fix. Holding my breath for logs and an answer from apr.
Udate: The miss has now moved to 2300 - over 5K rpm

I have r8 coilpacks & ngk plugs both of which have been ruled out by the dealer.

Had similar issues with my car and ended up replacing the ECU.

Not sure about apr but the case looked like it was handled by a gorilla.

It"s interesting you mentioned that. That was the first thing I noticed when I got my ecu back, It looked like it had been run over by a truck.
