If I agree about masks give me a good reason to spend my time reading a link. I'm not going to change my mind and don't have a choice anyway because my work requires a mask. If you have time to read and research every link that's posted in here go for it.Jim - you clearly didn't read my post.
The problem is that you assume that the link says what the post author says it does.
In this thread, it is obvious that whenever zricky post a link, it is virtually guaranteed that the link is either bullshit or actually contradicts what he said in the body of the post. The same holds true for the other anti-vaxxers in this thread.
Oddly enough, most of the links provided by others (including GTIfan with whom I've butted head) are accurate, support whatever it says in the text and are almost always from mainstream sources. None (and I use that term as meaning "virtually none") are from whack-a-doodle conspiracy sites.
Of course, we will always include a link that bolsters whatever we are saying, so one needs to look at motivations carefully and - especially if it is a controversial subject - look at the motivations of the link author.
It is clear that none of you have never done actual research. I'll give you a few pointers:
Is the source credible?
Does the provided data support the conclusion?
Is the information still valid or is there newer data?
What are the motivations of the author?
Here's everything you need to know about masks, Jim.If I agree about masks give me a good reason to spend my time reading a link. Whatever the truth may be is a mute point for me since I don't have a choice unless I quit working. Here's everything you need to know about masks, Jim.
and for those in this thread that need to be shown stuff you should have learned in kindergarten.....this is how folks who disagree can have a real conversation instead of trading insults. I know Hatch and I have many different views but it is possible to talk. But the scientists changed their stories in public as well which is causing issues with trust. The acceptance of the vaccine is placed directly on leadership in both the science and political fields.
I will not, I have been infected and have antibodies seven months after my infection.
My original question to HatchIt's the scientists that people should listen to.
just cause I don't remember are you Vacd (or going to get one)?

Well said. Hopefully someone will hear you.Let's dispel this fantasy that anyone is killing anyone else with their posts in this thread. Let's, for a moment, try to envision this imaginary "at risk" person.
1. This person not only has to find these forums but wander into this flamer thread with the weird title on his/her own, think it's a good place to get medical and science advice and read some or all of the covid posts in this forum.
2. This person has to be either neutral on the subject (highly unlikely) or already predisposed to agree with conspiracy stuff
3. This person's beliefs may be be slightly reinforced by some comment about this or that (the same thing we all do, confirmation bias)
4. This person now commits (or doesn't commit) some action or actions based on this reinforcement that results in someone else's suffering or death based on the information they read here
That's not just a stretch, it's insanely unlikely. But all this can be changed by a well constructed rebuttal! You just save the world! No. You didn't save shit. It's been said over and over, no one is changing their opinion about anything based on what's in this thread. You want to argue the merits of a position, do your thing. Telling someone they shouldn't post what they want or like any post they want because of what someone else might do is disingenuous and avoiding the issue of contention.
I had this b.... woman lecture me about having my dog at the pool. How it will encourage other people to do it. Now I have permission from both the state and the manager to have her down there. Yet she's telling me I shouldn't do something I'm allow to do because it will cause others to break the rules. I am not responsible for what other people do. Additionally she's telling me this while passing her wine bottle over the concrete around the hot tub which is totally against the rules. Might influence someone else! Bullshit.
Obviously you can tell me to fuck off and that's fine. But this is just like voter id laws. There is no problem so all the BS is completely unnecessary.
I think you are assuming that the person who is killed has to read this thread which is not required.Let's dispel this fantasy that anyone is killing anyone else with their posts in this thread. Let's, for a moment, try to envision this imaginary "at risk" person.

It's not Zrick’s posts that are killing anyone. It's the internet collectively. It's all the people who believe that way and post about it all over the internet.I think you are assuming that the person who is killed has to read this thread which is not required.
All it takes is someone to read zricks insane lying propoganda, think it's true (as zrick does) and then they cease or continue to cease taking protective measures against covid. That could spread covid more and kill people.
I'm not saying that he's directly killing anyone, but his posts contributing to an environment of disinformation that most definitely IS killing people.
I fix for you.Let's dispel this fantasy that anyone is killing anyone else with their posts in this thread. Let's, for a moment, try to envision this imaginary "at risk" person.
This person has to be the stupidest person alive already, so their days are likely numbered anyway.not only has to find these forums but wander into this flamer thread with the weird title on his/her own, think it's a good place to get medical and science advice and read some or all of the covid posts in this forum.

I'm trying to imagine the person who's so easily influenced by a car customizing forum thread that they're going to change how they feel about things based on one of his posts. I don't think you can convince me otherwise no one even comes in here let alone who's so impressionable that they're mind is going to be changed by the crazy shit.I think you are assuming that the person who is killed has to read this thread which is not required.

Again well stated. And I would add I've yet to see a single person in this thread who is on the fence about what they believe. Every person in this thread came in here with their mind made up.I'm trying to imagine the person who's so easily influenced by a car customizing forum thread that they're going to change how they feel about things based on one of his posts. And to repeat he is not responsible for other people. They are responsible for their own thoughts and their own actions and putting it on someone else is bullshit.
