GTI esp in higher trims is a much nicer car in many ways. It won’t be as reliable as a Honda.
that’s usually a given when it comes to Honda though

Source? I haven’t heard one way or the otherNew Honda vehicles with tiny turbo engines and CVTs are not that much more reliable...

I am definitely not a fan of cvt transmissions. Interesting they are having such a hard time with the engines. It appears their quality control has gone down. Here’s one...possibly more than million engines affected. And CVTs...yuck, even when they operate right.

Definitely not gonna buy one without stacking two hockey bags in the trunk and sticks over the back seat to make sure we can do it. If it doesn't fit then I'd consider a Sportwagen but that might be too much of a fun downgrade coming from my Si.
Still deciding if I want to make a move this year or wait one more year. Some days I get in my Si and it's like "hell yeah" and other days it's like "i hate this car." Slushy streets have started hitting in Ontario and I'm sure dying for that reverse camera that's not designed to get absolutely covered in crap after 3 minutes of driving.
Civic SI's don't come in automatics. Honda automatics aren't as bad as they used to be but their manual is far superior to the VW trash manual (Wish I had DSG). That said if you want the auto option, nothing is better than the VW DSG IMO.Here’s one...possibly more than million engines affected. And CVTs...yuck, even when they operate right.
