Tree sap?

Aigoo

Ready to race!
I got a blob of tree sap on my car that I can't get out. I've soaked it in some detail spray with no luck.

Figured I'd have a couple of options:

1) Use some sort of adhesive remover

2) Clay bar the SOB.

Are there any other suggestions? Didn't want to do the adhesive/claybar since i'd probably have to re-wax.

Goo gone spray gel and just re wax that panel?

Hot water pressure washer might work?

Since auto paint is urethane you can safely use laquer thinner on paint that's cool to the touch. You can start with a less aggressive solvent such as goo gone or goof off. Once the solvent has had time to soften the sap GENTLY rub turning the towel. Once clear polish and wax the area.

Best stuff to remove tree sap is NON-ACETONE nail polisher remover. Works like a charm and safe for paint.

isopropal alcohol 91% mixed 50/50 with distilled water or 71% full strength

I actually use 91 and have no problems, spray a bit on the sap and a bit on a clean rag....rub at it a bit and it comes off easily....I then spray regular water over it and follow up with a bit of detailer and I am done.
